Welcome To Amelia County Middle School!
Our vision at Amelia County Middle School is to provide a learning environment where all persons are working together cooperatively and collaboratively to become critical thinkers and productive citizens in our society.
Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year
Raider Parents and Students,
I would like to welcome all of you to the 2020-2021 school year. I am envisioning a successful and rewarding academic year. At ACMS, we will work with all of our students and families to provide an environment that encourages students to become self-directed and life-long learners. As always, we will continue to focus our creative efforts on nurturing continuous growth within all of our students. At ACMS, your child/children are fortunate to be enveloped by a dedicated team of teachers and staff members who work together in coordination to ensure that each student has an opportunity to learn, grow, and feel cherished. Our guiding theme this academic season is “Our Children’s Champions.” The mentality of this statement will be embedded in everything that we do here at ACMS. I am looking forward to a successful middle school collaboration between our families, faculty, and community.

ACMS Community Engagement Session Sign-up
ACMS Parents,
The middle school will be conducting parent engagement sessions beginning December 2, 2020. The purpose of each session is to increase the number of meaningful contacts between families and ACMS school-based personnel. It is our hope that increased contact will result in our families being able to communicate their concerns regarding students and schools. We also hope to solicit ideas regarding how we can better serve our families. I ask that you complete our Community Education Session Public Survey by November 20, 2020. The survey can be found in the e-mail sent to parents and it can be accessed on the ACMS homepage, along with the ACMS Facebook page.

Read with the Principal
Raider Parents,
I am launching my Read with the Principal program and am looking for 10 students from each grade level to read with. Because of the limited number of books available, this will have to be first come first served. The purpose of the program is twofold: share the importance of reading and building relationships. I have selected one book for each grade level. My sixth-grade students will be reading The Stars Beneath Our Feet, seventh graders will read The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind and my eighth-grade students will read Blended. If selected, students will be provided the books and a schedule of chapters to read weekly. They will also be expected to participate in weekly discussions through Google Meet to talk about what we are reading. The meets will take place every Wednesday at a time to be determined. If your child would like to participate, please have the student complete the Google form (link attached to this communication), and posted on the Middle School’s website or contact me here at the school. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSespa30cF4NDsmCSMMOYcNMfz1ouHTeVre76MVOg7a8Pu-47Q/viewform
I hope that your students find this opportunity as fascinating as I do.
Educationally,
Bobby
