Paragraph 1

  • Multicellular, can't make own food (heterotrophs), cells w/nuclei (eukaryotes)
  • 30 major phyla
  • Important phyla-cnidarians, mollusks, annelids, arthropods, echinoderms, and chordates

Paragraph 2

  • Cnidarians-live in water, central opening for taking in food and eliminating wastes
  • Examples: jellyfish, sea anemones, and coral

  • Mollusks-live on land and water
  • invertebrates and have a muscular foot for moving
  • examples: snails, clams, octopuses

  • Annelids-live on land and water
  • Segmented worms due to connected sections.
  • examples-earthworms, leeches, and some sea floor worms
