  1. DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) - the genetic information of the cell
  2. Matter-anything that has mass and takes up space
  3. Weight- the measure of the force of gravity on an object
  4. Mass-the amount of matter in an object
  5. Cytoplasm- material containing proteins, nutrients, and cell organelles
  6. Kinetic energy-the energy an object has because it is moving
  7. Carnivore-an animal that eats other animals
  8. Density-the amount of mass in a certain volume
  9. Nucleus-The control center of the cell
  10. Gravity- a force that pulls objects toward each other
  11. Organism- a living thing
  12. Buoyancy-an object's ability to float
  13. Exoskeleton-an outer skeleton found on arthropods
  14. Potential energy-the stored energy in an object due to its position
  15. Ecosystem-interaction of all living and nonliving things in an environment
  16. Atom-a small particle that makes up most matter
  17. Heredity-the passing of traits from parents to offspring
  18. Electron-an invisible, negatively charged particle that travels around the nucleus of an atom
  19. Ribosome-an organelle that makes protein for the cell
  20. Six Kingdoms-large groups of organisms that share certain characteristics (plant, animal, protist, fungus, the Monerans- Archaebacteria and Eubacteria)

  30. Molecule- the smallest part of a compound that still has the properties of the compound
  31. Vertebrate- animal that HAS a backbone
