Carter Edmondson - Chorus

Hello My Name Is...

Carter Edmondson

This is my first year teaching at Amelia County Middle and High School.  Previously, I taught choral music, piano, guitar, and exploratory music in Wythe county located in southwestern Virginia.

This year I will be teaching several choirs and 5th grade music resource at ACMS, as well as the choirs and piano classes at ACHS. I'm thrilled to be working with the extremely talented students in Amelia county, as well as the faculty, staff, and administrators at the schools.

Originally from Victoria, VA, I graduated from Central of Lunenburg High School, Va Tech, and Radford University. My university degrees include horticulture and music education with concentrations in voice and organ.  I have taught music in public schools for 12 years, and have served as organist/pianist at churches in several Virginia locations - Victoria, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and Radford. Additionally, I have accompanied many All County, All District, and Regional choirs, and played in the orchestra for high school and community theater musicals.

I look forward to working with the students and staff at each school, and hope to meet many of the students' family members at the concerts and performances throughout the year.

*  Student Handbook-
During the first few weeks of school, all the choral and piano students will receive a booklet with LOTS of important information - classroom policies, needed materials,  AND A CALENDAR of this year's events and performances. Students are to share this handbook with their parents/guardians in order to be informed about their music class, especially the calendar that includes the dates of the REQUIRED concerts and performances.

*  Fundraising Information-
Students will be given several fundraising opportunities throughout the school year to assist with their expenses incurred for upcoming trips, competitions, choral attire, and other necessities involved for a successful choral music program.

*  Information - is a great way for us (students, parents/guardians, and teacher) to stay in contact throughout the year.  I will be sending out reminders for concerts, performances, fundraisers, quizzes, etc. in advance so that all involved can adequately plan ahead.

It's a free, anonymous notification app for smartphones and for email.
