Beverley Edwards

Welcome to my page.  This is my second year as Director of Choirs and piano teacher in Amelia County and I am happy to have met so many talented singers and pianists!  Music has always been an important part of my life.  I began playing piano in elementary school, participated in chorus and band in middle school and high school, then decided to attend Barton College in Wilson, NC and earned a B.S. in Music Education.  I also earned a M.M. with an emphasis in organ from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC and a M.A. in mental health counseling from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC.

My family is made up of my husband and 3 daughters.  One is in middle school, one attends high school and one is a student at Campbell University in NC.  We also have 2 rescue dogs that make our lives fun and enjoyable.

Chorus and piano classes will look different this school year because of COVID-19.  Chorus classes are safely singing while wearing masks and keeping 10 ft. distance between each other.  Pianists are playing pianos in class as usual, but are taking extra precautions to social distance and to disinfect pianos.  Virtual and hybrid students are staying connected by using sites such as Sountrap for Education,,  teacher-created videos and Google Meets.  Please stay tuned for virtual concerts that will be scattered throughout the year.

Parents and guardians can stay connected with their children’s progress by joining the Power School Parent Portal and monitoring Google Classroom.  Each student’s materials and assignments are organized in the “Classwork” section and the most important tool to help with weekly work is the Weekly Schedule which lists assignments to be completed every day with links to material and websites so that all material are easily accessible.  Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
