I am excited to begin my journey as the Amelia County Middle School Principal and look forward to opportunities to work directly with families, students, and staff to keep ACMS moving in a positive direction.  I am dedicated to the success of Amelia County Public Schools, and have served here in many capacities.  Most recently, I served Amelia County as the Assistant Principal at Amelia County High School from the fall of 2019 through the spring of 2022 during which time we all learned and grew through a pandemic.  Prior to that, I was Assistant Principal at Amelia County Elementary School beginning in the fall of 2017. I have also served Amelia County Public Schools in the capacity of Amelia County High School Special Education Coordinator for six years, and High School Special Education teacher for five years.  As I move into my 16th year with ACPS, I am excited to begin the work of building relationships, programs, and the success of Amelia County Middle School.

I grew up in Amelia County, attended Amelia County Public Schools, and graduated from Amelia County High School in 1988. My parents and many family members still live in the county.  I am married to my wonderful husband, David, and have two sons, two step-daughters, and three grandchildren.  While I currently reside in Chesterfield County with my husband, I am proud to still be a part of the Amelia community through my work here at Amelia County Middle School.

After graduation from high school, I began working full-time and soon found myself raising a family.  When my youngest child began attending Amelia County Elementary School, I began attending college to become a special education teacher.  In 2006, I graduated from Longwood University and began teaching at Amelia County High School.  Since that time, while working and raising a family, I have earned a Masters degree in Special Education through Longwood University and my Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction through Liberty University.

I look forward to serving the students, staff, parents, and community of Amelia County Middle School and am eager to be a part of the continued growth as we move forward.  Please contact me with any questions or concerns; my door is always open.
