Assistant Principal - Mr. Daniel Trump

Mr. Trump

After earning my B.A. in English and Secondary Education in 2006, I decided continue my studies at Longwood and earn an M.A. in Literature. While working on that degree (which I finished in 2009, also at Longwood), I started my teaching career at Prince Edward County High School where I taught in the English department for five years. Living in Farmville and teaching at PECHS, I came to love the closeness of a small community and the environment and opportunities of a small school, as previously I had mostly grown up in the sprawling suburbs of Northern Virginia. In the summer of 2013, I came to Amelia County High School to teach Dual Enrollment English and become the new English Department Chair, and with this first taste of school leadership I found that I enjoyed the challenge of shaping the professional practices and educational mission of a group of teachers in the effort to affect and support students in the whole of our school building and not just my own classroom. These experiences led me to VCU, where I earned my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership in 2017. I have a passion for working with students of all ages, and--as the husband to a former middle school teacher--I have a special appreciation for the teachers that work with students at this particularly critical stage, which is what makes me so excited every day about my current role at Amelia County Middle School. Go Raiders!
